A Non Experimental Descriptive Study to Assess the Attitude of Nursing Students Regarding Impact of Online Education on Curricular Development

Abstract

This decade became evident for the outbreak of pandemic disease called covid-19. Along with the several major and minor sectors the key sector to get damage is Education. The education from lower level to higher including technical and general as well as health suffered with a great damage. This pandemic clearly explains the need of nurse’s role and their services to the society hence the nursing education and nursing training must be in comprehensive way to battle the upcoming the health issues. Materials and methods: A non-experimental descriptive research was adopted in this study. 106 samples was selected based on Non probability purposive sampling technique. Data was collected by using tools consist of two major sections. The 5 points likert scale was used to assess the attitude of nursing students towards online education. Results: The result of the study was analyzed and summarized based on the statistics required for the study. Frequency and percentage distribution of the samples based on the socio demographic data, Percentage distribution of the samples based on Attitude scale, Association of attitude scale with selected demographical variables. It was found effectively that most of the opinions of the nursing students was statistically significant and associated with the selected demographical variables. By the result of research study it was concluded that hypothesis H1 was accepted in relation with associated variables. Conclusion: The samples expressed their opinions towards how online education for more than half year was affected their nature of learning. The continuous online education impacted on teaching learning process, fail to meet the objectives of education, increased fatigue, created gap between knowledge and practice, failed to develop the competencies, lack of skills , annual results and lack in co-curricular developments.
