Highway traffic flow is a multifaceted phenomenon influenced by intricate and unpredictable variables with strong interdependencies. This study focuses on understanding how changes in roadway, traffic, and environmental factors notably affect traffic flow quality. To analyze the capacity of road sections under diverse traffic and geometric conditions, it becomes essential to standardize vehicle characteristics into a universally accepted unit. By doing so, researchers can effectively measure and compare the impact of different traffic and geometric configurations on the flow of vehicles. This approach enables a
comprehensive assessment of traffic patterns, facilitating better decision-making in traffic management and infrastructure design to enhance overall transportation efficiency and safety.
