Abstract

India has a 5.8 million-kilometer road network that transports about 68 percent of cargo and 88 percent of passenger traffic. Road traffic is expected to expand at a rate of 8-12% each year, whereas vehicle growth is projected to grow at a rate of 15% per year. Road Safety Audit (RSA) thoroughly analyses and focuses on prospective road safety hazards, as well as possibilities for all motorists to improve their safety. The Road Safety Audit comprises of safety standards to be applied to the design of the proposed or renovated road section in order to prevent or reduce the intensity of accidents. In this study, an investigation of one of Indore's key highways will be carried out. The analysis will focus on the area from SVVV to Sanwer. All through the day, the highway carries a significant quantity of traffic and has a number of conflict areas, such as traffic merging from an intersection. Sanwer will be thoroughly examined from the standpoint of safety, with supplemental analyses of traffic increase and accident investigation also being carried out. The project's goals include identifying flaws, implementing mitigation techniques, improving public relations, increasing road credibility, and measuring the crash rate of intersections or road lengths.
