Abstract

To improve the performance of concrete polymers are mixed with concrete. Addition of
polymer makes concrete more durable than conventional. Industrial waste has been
increased during last few years. Most of waste are dump for landfill without seeing it is
possibility for reuse or recycle. In this research styrene butadiene rubber latex is used as
percentage of cement in various percentage, 1.5%, 3%, 4.5%, 6%, 7.5%, 9%, 10.5% at an
interval of 1.5%. The amount of latex which gave best result was taken and ceramic powder
was used as replacement of cement (OPC) in various percentage, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, at
an interval of 10% to get maximum strength. Total number of cubes specimen
(150mmx150mmx150mm) made was 36, beams specimen (500mmx100mmx100mm) made
were 36. Specimen was tested at 28 days. The aim of this study was to get strength of
concrete by use of latex and ceramic powder as compared with standard concrete.
