Abstract

For India, having 1% of the world's automobiles and having 11% of traffic fatalities is quite concerning for authorities and road users. With the identification of black spots, we can practice remedial precaution measures for accident prone areas. In this study, we have identified accident prone sections and implemented a road safety audit (RSA) to analyse accident severity. A road safety audit (RSA) is a formal assessment of proposed or existing roads and areas connected to roads from the view point of all road users, with the goal of identifying gaps in road safety and potential crash sites. Using the accident weightage point (APW) method, we have ranked the critical section of the SH-27 (Marimata Square to Shri Vaisnav University), which is a six-lane highway. The identification of the critical section has taken place. The study has discussed the road scenario and
recommendations as per SP: 88:2019.
